Price

The Visa on Arrival costs IDR 500,000 (approximately USD 35).
Payment can be made in cash (USD, IDR, or other major currencies) or by card at designated counters in the airport.

Eligibility

The VoA is available to citizens of many countries, including the U.S., U.K., Australia, most EU countries, Canada, and others.
You need to check if your country is eligible before you travel, as the list can change.

Validity

The VoA allows you to stay in Indonesia for 30 days. This is counted from the day you enter Indonesia, not from the date of visa issuance.

Extension

The VoA can be extended once for an additional 30 days, giving you a total of 60 days in Indonesia.
You need to apply for an extension before the initial 30 days expire. Extensions can be done at the Immigration Office in Bali or other parts of Indonesia.
The extension process usually takes 3-7 business days, and you may need to visit the Immigration Office more than once for processing, fingerprinting, and collecting your passport.
The extension fee is around IDR 800,000 (around USD 50).

How to Apply for the VoA

When you arrive at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport or other entry points, you can apply for the VoA at the visa counter.
After paying the fee, you will receive a VoA stamp in your passport, which allows entry.

Documents Required for VoA

A passport valid for at least 6 months from your entry date into Indonesia.
A return ticket or a ticket showing onward travel out of Indonesia.
Proof of payment for the VoA (this will be issued at the airport counter).
Sometimes, they may ask for proof of accommodation for your stay.

Other Important Information

The VoA is non-transferable and non-convertible to other types of visas (e.g., work or student visas).
If you overstay, the penalty is IDR 1,000,000 per day (about USD 65), and it is strongly advised not to overstay, as it can lead to complications when you leave Indonesia.
You cannot extend the VoA more than once, so after the total 60 days, you’ll need to leave Indonesia unless you apply for a different type of visa.

Exemptions

Some nationalities can enter Indonesia without a visa for a shorter stay (typically 30 days), but this cannot be extended.
If you’re planning to stay longer or for specific purposes (like work or study), other types of visas will be required (e.g., social visa, business visa, or long-term visa).

Where Can You Use the VoA?

The VoA is valid for entry at major Indonesian airports, seaports, and land borders. In Bali, it can be used when you arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).
