Banyumala Waterfall, also called Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, is located in Northern Bali between Munduk and Bedugul. It’s about 20-30 meters tall, with water flowing down in two streams. This waterfall is easy to reach and is a favorite in northern Bali.
Getting There:
By Car: Park halfway down the road (IDR 2,000 fee) since cars can’t go all the way to the ticket office. From the parking area, it’s a 10-minute walk on a steep path. You can also take a taxi bike for IDR 25,000 each way.
By Scooter: Scooters can go straight to the ticket counter (IDR 2,000 fee), but be ready for steep roads. If road work is happening, you may need to park further up and walk about 25 minutes, or take a taxi bike.
The Trail: From the ticket counter, it’s an 8-minute walk to the waterfall. The trail has concrete steps and some muddy spots. It’s suitable for most people, with handrails and places to rest along the way. A walking stick is included with your ticket, and we recommend using it, especially on the steeper parts.
What to Wear: Flip-flops are fine, but if it has rained, it’s better to wear trainers since the path can get slippery.
Cost and What to Expect: The entrance fee is IDR 50,000. This includes a bottle of water, use of a walking stick, and a small bracelet. The waterfall is open year-round, and after rain, it looks more impressive but can also be slippery. Plan to spend about 45 minutes to see the waterfall, and add another 20 minutes if you're parking farther away.
Swimming: Yes, you can swim in the pool below the waterfall. The water is cold but refreshing. There are changing rooms and toilets near the waterfall. Bring water shoes if you can, as the bottom is rocky.
Extra Tip: There are smaller waterfalls nearby, so make sure to explore the area around Banyumala. Toilets are available at the entrance and near the base of the waterfall, and it’s a good idea to bring small change for donations (IDR 2,000).
